Courtney June O'Connell

Courtney is from New York, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in studio art, became a certified language teacher, and has trained in improvisational comedy. She has been producing visual artwork and teaching English in Berlin since 2009. At the moment she is working on translating a series of graphic novels by Michael Schröter. She volunteers as a coordinator for Kunst hilft!, a group offering artistic workshops with a therapeutic orientation to children in refugee shelters in Berlin. She is also a core member of Schön, dass Ihr da seid!, an initiative organizing welcome festivals, connecting newcomers and locals in the city. When she's not doing any of these things, she's attending a samba or yoga class, playing table tennis, or out dancing.
